WHAT DOES THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MEANS FOR US?

By Sivuyile Sviggy Sesi
In this essay I am going to explain how the fourth industrialisation to be where it is now has been helping us, what has been the disadvantages, how we have found help from the disadvantages and then, discuss our externships for the learners project at our communities as what we do to not be left behind. And then show you how it is an opportunity also for the rural villages.

World Economic Forum says that “with the man and machines converging digitization is disrupting everything, the technologies are emerging more quickly than we imagined them”.

The fourth industrial revolution, digitally, means mass communication, that is affordable and easy to use for more initiators that were denied by limitations before, they will be able to reach more

audience, be exposed to more and further life chance from any corner of the world without necessarily moving yet things come to them and they get recognised. eg the WEF Agenda Blog platform which reach 1.5 million people a month. With such ordinary people will be empowered.

It means easily finding and submitting to the latest opportunities on any field you interested in. It keep you busy and gives or keeps you hoping for the better. With myself digital initiatives, now I know better. The world and its things are on your finger tip.

This year I have entered for competitions ranging from entrepreneurship, welbeing and health, lifestyle, crowdsourcing, venture capital pitching, etc and even though I am unemployed because I don’t have money to look for a job. With the affordability of internet easy access to digital platforms I am benefiting and growing with the rest of the world.

There is no need to fight for positions as there is capacity to contribute and do good where you are and actually be in a platform to keep others accountable as its also on record, eg our essays will be shared in Davos and promoted across social media platforms as the meeting happens. That is power to the people.
HEALTH WISE WE SAFE

Even though the software robots are taking our people’s jobs they have come with advantages, especially health wise.

There will be less physical and mental health problems. Our families will be less stressed, with elders to be able to have health to take care of their families welbeing. They will be able to get back to the right intrapersonal capability to nurture young ones.

The jobs they doing are frustrating, killing their health and good feelings yet they paid little money and not be able to afford proper health services. In that the family is suffering.

The mass production and computer age coming to the current industrialisation have messed our families in that. The robots as they have computerized softwares and capable to do (mass) production and intelligent unhealthy work it will be able to help our people lives. These industries messed our people’s physical and mental health.

OUR EXTERNSHIP PROJECT

As on the fourth industrial revolution businesses want to save, with robots and digital technology emerging, living more people jobless with our externship projects plan we equipping future workforce for all the changes so that they can be useful again. Doing that all by themselves.
Robots will do those jobs, people will have to do better jobs and with our externship project starting from high schools we helping them find their way. With that they should be able to gain better skills, create value and provide assistance or monitor robots and make a living for their families.

That is the start with high school learners, preparing them for the jobs of the future. Going with our externship projects to the classroom we want to build their thinking, leadership, management, communications, organizational skills around STEM skills. With that allow them to come up with ideas that are useful in the real workplace and business.

We will organise events and platforms for them to present their ideas to businesses. That will benefit them, their schools and for their future.

With the externships we giving them the opportunity to play a role in shaping their future workplace. At our project we will be exposing and teaching our learners about the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, growing in it and becoming ripe. We need technology and robots because they more efficient. We will have our own technocrats. When they oozing with knowledge and skill they will be able to make the needed decisions at school and in their future, be able to be creative, innovative, inventive, etc to cater for our communities and the world.

ALSO FOR THE RURAL VILLAGES

For example with the 3D printing, it will help people living in the villages as they are in rural and remote areas that are less developed. They will be able to produce for themselves without the need for factories and infrastructure, be able to use digital media to trade their products with the cities of the world, making money in a way suitable with their environment and condition. They will not be left behind.

For me as soon as I get enough funds I am planning to do a Software Development course so that I can be more useful for this project.
In conclusion is that, even with this fourth industrial revolution we
are still to participate. To not be left behind our communities must
play their role.
