People have lost hope in government.

What do you do when people have lost confidence that in anyway or with anyone there will be no positive change, that its better to rather have people in our immediate relationships holding positions. People believe that there are no new ideas, people keep changing positions but still we faced with the same challenges over and over again.

Education doesn’t provide for its promise of developing people. Educated people don’t bring better ideas any way. That’s how the society feels, as the route to better life is bottle neck.

After so long the system existing, these things happening we still faced with poor service delivery. Our societies are still backward and we might as well accept it, that things will still be the same so we might as well settle for the bad we have. There is widespread poverty of good leadership and role models. Our situation is worsening

But we still have people who have proven in their own lives to make things work. With so much loss of hope they still show up to bring about inspiration for the situation or struggles we faced with. Former President Nelson Mandela was there and with the little time he served us it worked. Former President Thabo Mbeki was there and his focus on connecting our economy and nation to the world worked. These leaders had set the economy to grow as that is what is needed to improve the standard of living of the people.

People like Mamphela Ramphele showed up for the recent 2014 elections wanting to restore the promise of freedom and now they have 2 seats in parliament. At least other people from with in our society they still have hope and confidence in our country and they know that it will be better if we work hard at it. They know it from their personal or individual lives that positive change is possible, that even for others life can be better. They use themselves to inspire freedom and prosperity. They lead by example for us. Because of them our country is better and the world recognizes us because of their hardwork.

While Mbeki was a president, his ways proved to work, he helped us achieve what we need, that is to grow the economy and empower more people. We still really needed Mbeki. Jacob Zuma replaced him as African National Congress (ANC) president and he also became state president from that. As a results Zuma has been unable to keep momentum, our economy is the slowest when compared with the progress of other emerging economies, they have coped well with the challenges of the global economy.

Still in the 2014 elections Zuma won, against Democratic Alliance (DA) which has Lindiwe Mazibuko that has very much kept Zuma in check for maladministration and corruption. With Mazibuko as DA parliamentary leader government had to account. But still a great number of votes where for Zuma led ANC but won with the reduced majority.

There has been no positive chance for many SAns. Now with Zuma, it has started to reverse the progress that is so hard to achieve. Like in Zimbabwe the government and economy is becoming more and more useless for its citizen. People of Zimbabwe have lost confidence for their country, their scatted all over the world for better life. There is no investment; people who want what it has to offer have gone out looking for opportunities in other countries.

We might say we don’t trust black people and their ways but what do you do when things turnout as Zuma has done. The country becoming poorer. Is it education? Helen Zille did well, Mbeki did well, Mazibuko has chosen education after people still voted for scandalous Zuma. Trevor Manuel a heavy weight in our political progress retired from politics. Is it that we have reached a dead end, that people feel in anyway with all that we have in our diversity, people are focusing in their immediate inner circle, in that overlooking the so scarce quality leadership.  For that you can tell people have lost hope and confidence with what this country is offering.

With such loss of confidence more people will see no value in voting. Administration after administration government can’t improve people’s lives, people become disappointed. Service delivery is poor. There is lack of effective ideas that can lead to successful implementation. Can’t people evaluate or people just chose their immediate circle, people of their own even if in that more people suffer. Mazibuko, February 2013 in parliament, responding to president Zumas speech.”Ours is a president who says one thing to appease South Africa, and then does another to please himself and his inner circle.”

With maladministration jobs, social grants, etc are not guaranteed, especially for people who need it most. That is why more people in the cities are not voting for leaders that they know can’t provide for their positions. ANC is losing more middle class vote because of leaders like Zuma. With him there is no hope. Its blind votes.

We need leaders who know what they doing to inspire, bring hope and positive change for many still trapped in poverty. Our people need to get used having role models around them. Our country needs progress for the good of its people. Leaders must provide direction, the people depend on it.
